PVC & PVDF Membrane Systems

Durable, translucent, and engineered to last. Our tensioned PVC and double-sided PVDF membranes — from 610 up to 1450 gsm — provide a bright, maintenance-free envelope for industrial and commercial structures.

Advanced Materials

Engineered Fabric Technology

Champion uses multi-layered architectural PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) membrane reinforced with high-tenacity polyester yarn, available in seven grades from 610 gsm up to 1450 gsm. This combination ensures high tensile strength and dimensional stability across the full range.

The heaviest grades — 1100, 1200, 1350 and 1450 gsm — use a double-sided PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) coating that resists UV degradation, fungal growth, chemical attack and dirt accumulation, ensuring long-term performance in extreme climates from the Arctic to the Sahara.

Natural Daylight

Up to 12% translucency reduces the need for artificial lighting during the day, lowering operational costs.

🛡

Rip-Stop Tech

High-tenacity weave prevents minor punctures from propagating into large tears.

Grades & Weights

Membrane Performance Data

Select the appropriate weight for your climate and application requirements. We offer seven architectural grades — three PVC grades (610–900 gsm) and four heavy-duty double-sided PVDF grades (1100, 1200, 1350 and 1450 gsm).

All grades are PVC-coated high-tenacity polyester base cloth. Heavier PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) grades from 1100 gsm to 1450 gsm deliver higher tensile and tear strength, superior UV and chemical resistance, and the longest service life for the most demanding mining, bulk-storage and heavy-snow projects. PVC membrane layers
Material Build-Up

Inside the Membrane: 5 Engineered Layers

Every Champion architectural membrane is a multi-layer laminate engineered for strength, weather resistance and longevity:

1

Top PVDF Lacquer

Self-cleaning fluoropolymer surface resisting UV, dirt, pollution and chemical attack.

2

Upper PVC Coat

Weatherproof, flame-retardant PVC layer bonded to the base cloth.

3

Polyester Base Cloth

High-tenacity 1000D-2000D woven polyester yarn carrying the tensile load.

4

Lower PVC Coat

Anti-fungal, anti-wicking interior layer.

5

Interior PVDF / Acrylic Lacquer

Easy-clean, mildew-resistant inner finish.

Coating Comparison

PVDF vs. PVC Lacquer Surface

The surface coating determines how the membrane ages. PVDF is the premium choice for harsh, high-UV and chemical environments.

Key Benefits

Why Choose PVC?

Modern architectural PVC is a sophisticated composite material designed for structural integrity.

🔥

Flame Retardant

Meets B1 (China), M2 (France), and NFPA 701 standards for fire safety and self-extinguishing properties.

UV & Anti-Fungal

Dual-sided lacquering (PVDF or Acrylic) protects against yellowing, mold, and brittleness in humid environments.

📈

Tension Stability

Engineered for low-wick and low-stretch to maintain a drum-tight fit over the steel frame through seasonal shifts.

Installation Technology

Keder Rail Attachment

We use a specialized Keder rail system for membrane attachment. The fabric edge is reinforced with a "keder" bead that slides into an aluminum or steel profile on the truss, creating a weather-tight, continuous seal.

No Holes, No Leaks

Unlike screw-down metal roofs, our system does not penetrate the cladding material, eliminating potential leak points.

🕰

Rapid Replacement

Individual panels can be replaced or tensioned independently without affecting the integrity of the whole roof structure.

🛡

Enhanced Tensioning

Mechanical tensioning in the keder rails ensures the membrane remains taut, preventing flutter and fatigue in high winds.

Modularity

Easily adapt or expand your building by sliding in new panels as your storage needs grow.

FAQ

Membrane FAQ

Yes. While white is standard for maximum translucency, we offer grey, tan, green, and blue options, or custom branding on request.

Our membranes are rated for temperatures down to -30 °C without becoming brittle or cracking, maintaining full flexibility.

Yes, architectural PVC is recyclable. We encourage end-of-life recycling through specialized industrial fabric programs to minimize environmental impact.

The PVDF top-coating is self-cleaning via rainfall. For high-dust sites, a simple annual pressure wash with mild soap will keep it bright.

The fabric is engineered as part of the total system. When tensioned correctly, it can withstand wind gusts up to 180 km/h or more depending on project engineering.

Yes. Small punctures can be repaired on-site using a solvent-welding kit or a heat-welding tool with matching PVC patches, restoring the membrane's weather-tight integrity.
